It all took off in 2005 when ambition turned into the self-taught knowledge of how to sew. Eventually, stubbornness paired with education in pattern making and sewing turned into a few small collections. Today the brand keeps developing along with the designer’s aim for furthering her education in design. With the debut of each collection, the signature style that is known for its feminine sensibility continues to grow and mature. In the spring of 2009, Alexandra Werner launched her first collection under her newly established brand that shares her name. The core of the brand revolves around the creation of limited edition collections of exquisitely tailor-made, affordable clothes.

“I’m constantly inspired by the images that I absorbed from my surroundings. When combined with my previous experiences, they evolve into something new. What I find to be defaults of different styles make me think of how they could be re-worked and developed into something else. The closure of my groundwork always ends when I, with aid from my inspiration, find a picture in my memory of a person I know, adore, or have simply just encountered in the street. When I find that person, I create a garment specifically for him or her. Perhaps someday that person will be you!”

Alongside fashion design, Alexandra Werner is part-owner of two nightclubs where she often organizes fashion shows. As the project manager, she shows off her own design as well as providing other designers with an opportunity to show off their own designs. Therefore, each show has a combination of new brands and fresh creativity. At the same time each designer can mingle with their customers while showing them that fashion is not inaccessible. Fashion and fashion shows are for everyone!

The brand is currently based in Stockholm and can be bought in the store at Pipersgatan 3, Kungsholmen. If you are interested but living abroad, then you can contact Alexandra Werner directly. The studio will be moving to London in 2010.
